The can body is made of a circular aluminum sheet that has undergone multiple stamping and stretching processes, known as the stamping and stretching thin-walled can making method.

Step 1: Blank punching and lubrication

Feed the rolled aluminum strip pre coated with lubricant into the stamping machine.

Stamping machines use molds to punch out circular metal sheets, which are called “blanks”.

Step 2: Deep flushing

The billet is fed into the first deep drawing press.

By stamping the mold, the flat blank is pressed into a shallow cup shape. This process is called ‘initial rush’.

Step 3: Multi stage re stretching

This shallow cup is continuously fed into a series of increasingly fine molds.

In each mold, a punch pushes the bottom of the cup downwards, thinning its side walls, increasing its height, and reducing its diameter. Usually, after 2-3 stretches, a long and thin cylinder is formed, with a closed bottom and an open top. At this point, it has begun to take on the shape of a bottle, but the bottom is still flat.

Step 4: Edge trimming

The top edge of the stretched can body is uneven and rough.

By using a precision trimming machine, the excess part of the can mouth is cut off to make the height of the can consistent and the edges smooth and flat.
